MADE IN ITALY Early in 2014, the engineers at the OZ Tech Lab were tasked with an ambitious project: to design and create, in Italy, a wheel that would meet OZ standards in design, technology and quality, but at a competitive price. Omnia - the OZ wheel for everyone – required long hours and hard work to optimize production and engineering processes.Best choice for drivers who enjoy the exclusivity of compact sports cars like the Class-A Mercedes, VW Golf and many more, Omnia are 100% made in Italy, and the key that unlocks all the performance values of the world of OZ.Thanks to the engineering quality and attention to detail that went into its production, OMNIA takes its place as a full-fledged member of the SPORT collection, complete with the racing DNA, top construction technologies, and the highest qualitative standards (certified and approved) typical of all OZ wheels. CASTING A quality starting from technology processes OZ wheels are produced through Low Pressure Casting and Gravity technologies. Low pressure casting the alloy is heated at about 700°C, cast and is low pressure injected into the bottom of the mould, to the top. This process is widely used to transform non-ferrous materials and alloys into manufactured products guaranteeing a high finishing level on the final product. The resulting casting won’t present any junctions, porosity or cavities and the raw manufactured wheel shall have a fine and compact grain. The following alloy compounds are used in the manufacture of OZ wheels: G-AlSi7Mg. HEAT TREATMENT Thermal treatments or heat treatments. Processes to reinstate the structural integrity and strength, which are compromised in the initial iron and steel work processes. Structural tempering: The semi-finished wheel is heated to temperatures of 400-600 degrees C, a process causing the annealing o the binders and the stabilization of the molecular pressure. Aging: Natural or artificial aging completes the cycle of treatments and makes the alloy ready for structural use. Aluminium alloys are subjected to T6 type treatment, characterised by artificial aging, while magnesium alloy wheels undergo a T4 type treatment characterised by natural aging.Understand OZ Racing production here
