Tai Huat Tyres & Batteries was established in 1974 by founder Mr Eu "Ah Lek", with humble beginnings at 217 Upper Thomson Road. Built upon values of honesty, hard work, and genuine customer care, the business started as a neighbourhood tyre shop serving motorists and residents within the community.
At the age of just 17, Ah Lek's son, Chuan, joined the business and began learning the trade from the ground up. Through years of dedication and hands-on experience, he worked alongside his father and gradually built the knowledge, experience, and relationships that would shape the future of the business.
In 1985, Tai Huat Tyres & Batteries relocated to 246P Upper Thomson Road, where it remained until 2019. Over the decades, Ah Lek and Chuan became well known as a trusted father-and-son duo in the area. Beyond simply servicing vehicles, they built lasting relationships and friendships with customers, with many families returning across generations.
Since 1991, we have also been an authorised dealer for leading wheel brands, providing customers with quality products and trusted solutions backed by years of industry experience.
Like many family businesses, Tai Huat Tyres & Batteries has experienced both milestones and challenges throughout its journey. Expansion opportunities, changing market trends, and lessons learned over the years have all contributed to building the foundation and values we continue to carry today.
In 2019, as Ah Lek prepared for retirement, Chuan took over the leadership of Tai Huat Tyres & Batteries and continued the family's commitment to trusted workmanship and sincere customer care. The same year also marked another significant chapter, with the relocation from Upper Thomson Road to Sin Ming Road.
The third generation slowly began stepping into the business, working alongside Chuan with a shared vision of preserving the family legacy while introducing new ideas, technology, and innovation to prepare Tai Huat Tyres & Batteries for the future.
In 2024, Tai Huat Tyres & Batteries proudly celebrated its 50th Anniversary — a milestone representing five decades of dedication, relationships, and trust built with generations of customers. We are also proud to be Singapore's first full fledged GOODYEAR Autocare centre, backed by one of the world's leading tyre manufacturers and committed to delivering quality products and professional service standards.
